Central Catholic receiver signs with San Jose State

Central Catholic High wide receiver James Orth signed a national letter of intent to play for San Jose State University today.

Orth, a Modesto Bee all-District utility selection, said he was recruited to play receiver for the Western Athletic Conference school.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Orth caught 48 passes for 805 yards and nine touchdowns for the Raiders. He scored 14 total touchdowns.

Also, Pitman defensive lineman Andy Jennings is expected to sign a letter of intent later today to play for Fresno State University.

Central Catholic soccer player Jessica Kent also signed, with Division II Mesa State out of Grand Junction, Colorado.
