Dean Camara and Sam Kneiss burst onto Modesto's media scene five years ago, when their documentary on Modesto Christian's state finalist basketball team showed to a packed house at the State Theatre.

"Crusade to Victory" won a Digital Video award -- an international honor from an organization that works with the digital video industry -- for creating one of the best documentaries of 2002.

They haven't stopped.

When Kneiss and Camara hit the artificial turf at The Corral at Oakdale High on Friday night, it will mark the third year their company, Final Cut Media, has filmed the Modbee.com High School Football Game of the Week. Final Cut is based in downtown Modesto.

Camara has loads of experience shooting football games.

He routinely does work for NFL Films on a free-lance basis, including shooting the last Super Bowl -- where Indianapolis defeated Chicago 29-17. Camara's project was a documentary called "Super Bowl 360," a behind-the-scenes look at the Super Bowl. Camara also shot footage for popular video game Madden NFL 2005.

More recently, Camara spent 27 days on the road with the Kansas City Chiefs in training camp for the HBO production "Hard Knocks." Camara's work can be seen currently on HBO.

Final Cut is also working on "Break Away," a documentary on the life of Sacramento Kings player Francisco Garcia.

" 'Hard Knocks' was a reality show where we really got to know the players," Camara said. "That's the sort of thing we're hoping to continue with the Game of the Week."

Camara, Kneiss and crew will be at Oakdale for Week 1: Turlock at Oakdale. The other games set in stone include the next two weeks: Escalon at Patterson and back to The Corral for Cardinal Newman at Oakdale. After that, the schedule is more tentative.

Camara goes from working with NFL Films legend Steve Sabol to bringing that quality and experience to the high school level.

"It was just an honor to work with guys like (Sabol)," Camara said. "All that experience that I learned with NFL Films, we're going to take that to the Game of the Week and just make it better and better."
