Regarding Common Core stumps parents, children alike (Page A4, June 30): How can students be expected to learn and understand the Common Core materials if the teachers and parents cant understand them? Our public schools are transitioning from traditional education standards to Common Core so quickly that its making it hard for most people to catch up. These past few years, schools have been changing their teaching and testing methods, leaving a lot of parents and teachers unequipped to help their children.
Students are struggling to adjust to the new system. I believe Common Core would be much more beneficial if we were to slow down and gradually adopt the standards over a period of time, instead of rushing to have them all implemented at once.
