Modesto-area teens can get disaster tips at Stanislaus County Library

The Stanislaus County Library is carrying the zombie theme into a series of disaster-preparedness events for teens.

Four of its branches will hold talks this month by David Baker on “Zombie Preparedness.” Teens will learn how to prepare for an emergency and learn survival skills. They then can assemble safety kits to take home.

The schedule:

•  Salida: 4 p.m. Thursday at the Nick W. Blom Salida Regional Library, 4835 Sisk Road, (209) 543-7353

•  Ceres: 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Ceres library, 2250 Magnolia St., (209) 537-8938

•  Turlock: 3:30 p.m. July 23 at the Turlock library, 550 Minaret Ave., (209) 664-8100

•  Modesto : 3:30 p.m. July 30 at the main library, 1500 I St., (209) 558-7810
