Stockton man killed in Modesto accident identified

Authorities on Monday identified a man killed Friday when his car went into a Modesto canal. Sean Sieng, 41, of Stockton died after his Honda sport-utility vehicle went off the road at Briggsmore Avenue and Tully Road at 6:40 a.m.

Several bystanders worked together to free the driver, who was trapped. The man was taken to the edge of the canal, where CPR was initiated. He was then taken to Doctors Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Cause of death has not been determined, the Stanislaus County Coroner’s office said Monday. Results of an autopsy are pending.
