Motorcyclist killed, pedestrian injured in Oakdale crash

— A crash between a motorcycle and a sports utility vehicle left the motorcyclist dead and a pedestrian injured by flying debris, police said.

The accident was reported at 4:53 p.m. at Highway 108 and Reed Road.

According to police, Randall Keith Alford, 53, of Oakdale was traveling at an unsafe speed when the motorcycle collided with a sports utility vehicle driven by David Bradley, 38, of Oakdale. The preliminary investigation indicates Bradley failed to yield the right of way to Alford, police said.

Alford was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A pedestrian in the area, David Wilford Chrowl, also from Oakdale, was injured when flying debris hit him. He was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment, police said.
