Families keep cool with water games at Empire library

June 19, 2014

With temperatures that reached the low 90s, Thursday was a fine afternoon for water games offered at the Empire branch of the Stanislaus County Library. Children and families played three team water games: water balloon toss, race to fill the bucket using a water-soaked sponge, and wet basketball toss. The Empire library, at 18 S. Abbie Street, has other fun events planned for kids this summer. On July 24, kids will use their thumbprints and inks to create images of flowers, bugs, frogs and more. And on Aug. 14, they can decorate a jar with tissue paper, ribbon and other craft materials to make a vase, pencil/pen holder, trinket container or flower pot. For more information, call the Empire library at (209) 524-5505.
