Three local youth bowlers were named to the prestigious NorCal All-Star team.
Brittany Scheaffer, 18, was named to the Major Girls team. She averaged a 197, which included a 277 game and a 673 series.
Sara Nassberg earned a spot on the Prep Girls team. The 11-year-old had a 168 average, up 20 pins from last year. She posted a 246 game and a 643 series.
Meanwhile, Roman Heath, 13, secured a spot on the Prep Boys team. He averaged 200 this past season. Heath recently placed in the National Pepsi Scholarship Tournament, posting a 300
He will represent California at the 2014 Junior Gold Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., July 11-18 and vie for a coveted spot on the Junior Team USA.

Ander Gregory put the first 12 in the pocket for a 300, then continued to strike the next 10 frames of the second game to end with a 288. He finished with a 198 game and a 786 series. The Junior/Senior Firecracker Doubles at McHenry is July 4 at 1 p.m. Teams of one youth (age 18 and under) and one adult (age 55 and over) bowl three games in this fun event.
