Teenager shot in west Modesto

A 16-year-old girl was shot just after midnight Monday while walking in west Modesto.

The girl was shot in the buttock after she left a Quick Stop on Carpenter Road near Kansas Avenue, said Modesto police spokeswoman Heather Graves.

She said the shot was fired from someone in a black car.

The girl’s condition was not known Tuesday afternoon and no additional details about the shooting were available.
