What: US-TOO PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

When: Monday, 2014 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Where: Memorial Medical Center’s Health Education and Conference Center, McHenry Village, 1700 McHenry Ave., Suite 60B

Info: Men diagnosed with prostate cancer meet the fourth Monday of each month. This month, the US-TOO support group leader, Ken Willmarth, will discuss his personal 12-year journey with prostate cancer. After the presentation, there will be small-group interaction with prostate cancer survivors, newly diagnosed, in treatment or in recovery. Friends and family members are encouraged to attend. What: DELWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ALLIANCE MEETING

When: Monday, 6:30 p.m.

Where: Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Telle Center Room 503, 1600 Carver Road

Info: The neighborhood watch is made up of volunteers working together to make the DelWood area a safer and better place to live, organizers say. The DelWood Neighborhood Alliance covers the area north of North Ninth Street and west of Tully Road up to Orangeburg Avenue. For more information, email delwoodneighborhoodalliance@gmail.com.


YESTERYEARS

25 YEARS AGO: The Stanislaus County Department of Animal Services sponsored a low-cost rabies vaccination and licensing clinic for residents who lived in the unincorporated areas of the county. Vaccinations were $3, and to obtain a vaccination, owners had to purchase a dog license.
