A fire gutted the interior of a Modesto house Saturday afternoon, causing at least $100,000 in damage and displacing the home’s three residents, Modesto Regional Fire Authority officials said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the two-alarm blaze in the 1500 block of Shiprock Court near Briggsmore Avenue and Claus Road at 3:14 p.m. The cause remains under investigation and the home is uninhabitable. The Red Cross was on scene to help the three adults living in the home.

Multiple MRFA engines responded to the incident along with one engine from the Ceres Fire Department.

Earlier Saturday, the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department responded to a grass fire in eastern Stanislaus County on Lake Road near Highway 132. The blaze spread to about 75 acres before firefighters extinguished it. The cause is under investigation.

Three Consolidated engines and a water tender responded to the grass fire about 2:30 p.m. along with units from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
