CHP officer injured in Turlock crash

A California Highway Patrol officer was involved in a crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 99 in Turlock.

Turlock police Sgt. Victor Barcelos said he did not know the extent of the CHP officer’s injuries except that they were not life-threatening. He said the crash occurred on southbound Highway 99 between West Linwood and Lander avenues.

Turlock police sent officers to the crash site at 5:54 p.m. at the request of the CHP. Barcelos said CHP officers also were on scene and took control of the incident. He did not have any additional information, and CHP officials could not be reached for comment.
