Ken Groves Jr.: Stanislaus supervisor Monteith earned his victory

June 7, 2014

Hearty congratulations to Supervisor Dick Monteith regarding his successful re-election effort. Mr. Monteith personally walked to thousands of homes while delivering a campaign message that packs a powerful punch – without stopping for lunch.

The multilevel experience of the pre-eminent policymaker is deserving of the highest accolades. Throughout his tenure as an elected official, Monteith should also have been lauded for remaining connected and true to his roots. Monteith’s proactive representation has benefited ag-related businesses and the job base. In addition, his efforts have served to help reduce urban sprawl.

Industries that have prospered most from his influence include dairy, grapes and wine, peaches, almonds, olives and olive oil, corn, corrugated products, molded pulp, home rentals and sales of real estate, automobiles and farm equipment. In the area of public safety, he has consistently advocated for more jail space and the expansion of neighborhood watch programs.

I tremendously admire his refreshing belief that Modesto should primarily grow east toward and beyond Empire, while emphasizing economic development along with a strong purposeful effort to focus on minimizing loss of long-established best farmlands.

Dick Monteith and trust – they are inseparable.

Ken Groves Jr., Ceres
