Three Modesto names have been added to a list of California’s biggest delinquent taxpayers.

Abbad Saleh Altayyar, the Healthy Living Collective Inc. and Room Source LLC each owe the state more than $400,000 in unpaid sales and use taxes, according to the California State Board of Equalization.

They join nine other regional businesses and business people on the state’s list of the top 500 tax debtors, which is posted online so the public knows who hasn’t paid their share of taxes.

Combined, the local companies and their owners owe more than $13.3 million in back sales and use taxes.

Altayyar, who was the owner of Modesto’s now-defunct Sarah Auto Sales at 417 McHenry Ave., is listed as owing $429,116 since 2011. Sarah Auto Sales already was on the debtor list for owing $546,433 since 2008.

The Healthy Living Collective, which was at 500 Glass Lane, Suite B2, has owed $411,989 since 2009.

The Room Source, which was at 2836 Sisk Road, has owed $410,554 since September.

Other Modesto firms and business owners on the list include: M.T. Automotive Group (Modesto Mitsubishi), Topline Building Products, and The Auto Store of Merced Inc. (known in Modesto as Own A Car) and its owner, Abdel Muniem Mohamed Jawad.

On the list from Manteca is the Leer Automotive Group (Manteca Dodge) and its owner, Stefan Joseph Leer.

On the list from Tracy is Five Star Supply and Biondi Brothers Home Furnishings.

Of the total $491.2 million owed on the state’s latest list, $99.2 million are jointly owed liabilities. This means individuals associated with a corporation, partnership, limited partnership, limited liability partnership or limited liability company might be personally responsible for delinquent taxes.
