VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SUPERKART GRAND PRIX

Volunteers are needed for the Modesto Grand Prix, presented by Save Mart Supermarkets, on Aug. 1-3. Sign-ups are being taken online for positions including setup crew, cleanup crew, hospitality, parking, runners, tickets/gates and volunteer check-in. Go to http://modestogp.com/volunteers and click on the link. “Just as we couldn’t have a race without the participation of the drivers and teams from around the nation, we simply could not operate this event without the support of volunteers who will help make this race a reality,” said Mary Otten, deputy director of the Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department, in a news release. “Being involved in the race as a volunteer allows community members to experience this exhilarating sport firsthand, which is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.” More than 500 volunteers will be needed for the event, also known as the Pro Tour Summer Nationals.
