Couple arrested with child during Wal-Mart theft attempt

May 26, 2014

A couple was arrested with their 4-year-old son Sunday night after they took him to Wal-Mart to allegedly steal a television.

Loss prevention officers at the Plaza Parkway Wal-Mart witnessed Sierra Geletich, 28, circling the television section and talking into a walkie talkie, said Modesto Police Sgt. Steve Hinkley.

Geletich was detained when she picked up a television and left the store through a fire exit to meet Carey Glenn, 28, who was waiting in a car with their 4-year-old son.

Geletich and Glenn were arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and child endangerment.

The boy was released to the custody of a family member, Hinkley said.
