Maria C. Quijalvo: Thank you for wallet, and lesson

May 23, 2014

I did not thank you properly when you came to my door.

You found my grandson’s wallet while walking your dog by Modesto Junior College. You called MJC to try to find him, and were not satisfied with their answer to send him his wallet in the mail. So you went out of your way, took time out of your day to find our home and hand-delivered his wallet.

You, sir, taught my grandson that the world is a great place. He learned to do something nice for someone else when he gets the chance. He learned about honesty, integrity and helping others.

In this day and age when there is so much injustice, crime and so little caring for others, you have shown that people are worth rooting for. To have lost your ID, medical cards, etc. one minute and then have them returned to you the next is a wonderful feeling. It’s also wonderful to live in a town of caring, honest and decent people.
