Author Lee Woodruff speaks at Modesto's State Theatre

May 20, 2014

Hear New York Times best-selling author and “CBS This Morning” reporter Lee Woodruff at a community event today at the State Theatre.

The Doctors Medical Center event will include a giveaway of 300 copies of Woodruff’s book “Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress.” Woodruff is the wife of former ABC news anchor Bob Woodruff, who was injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq in 2006. Her book published the following year, “In An Instant,” chronicles the family’s response to his brain injury.

She also has written a best-selling novel, “Those We Love Most.” The event will include a talk by Dr. Gregory Helbig, who will share his insights into innovations in neuroscience available within our community. Helbig is a neurosurgeon affiliated with Pacific Regional Neurosurgery and is vice chairman of the department of surgery at Doctors Medical Center. Woodruff will sign copies of her book afterward.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the presentation will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. Call (209) 527-4697.
