Are you looking for information and support? Join the Memorial Medical Center’s Ostomy Education and Support Group. The group meets the third Wednesday of every month. Info: The Stanislaus County chapter of the CTA/NEA Retired holds its quarterly meeting. The group is an organization that promotes the well-being of retired California Teachers Association members by advocating for pension security, promoting member benefits, participating in social activities and other issues of mutual interest. The meeting will feature reports on the June election, the governor’s May revised budget issue and an update on the CTA-MTA proceedings. 25 YEARS AGO: It was announced that Frito-Lay Inc. would be building a $20 million snack-food plant in the Beard Industrial Tract near Modesto. The new plant would initially employ 250 people, with the expectation of employing a total of 300 workers at full production.
