Family of Ceres homicide victim sought

May 12, 2014

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office is searching for relatives of a homicide victim.

The body of Thomas Kroger, 49, was discovered in a freezer in a former Ceres auto shop last month. Kroger’s husband, Jacob Cervantes, has been charged with murder. Authorities have not said how Kroger died.

Deputy Martin Machado said he is looking for family members to make funeral arrangements for Kroger. He found one sister in Texas, but the woman did not want to claim Kroger.

Authorities ask anyone with information about Kroger’s relatives to call Machado at (209) 567-4500.
