Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors to meet

May 12, 2014

The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors will meet at 9 a.m. today in the basement chamber of Tenth Street Place, at 1010 10th St., Modesto. In addition to receiving a presentation on the Sheriff’s Department recruitment video, the board will consider the following items:

• Scheduling a public hearing on the 2014-15 preliminary budget for June 10 at 9 a.m. The hearing may continue June 11 if necessary.

• Contracting with Harris & Associates to provide on-call construction management services for public works projects. The contract through May 13, 2017, would not exceed $1 million. The firm will fill in when staff is not available as the county undertakes numerous improvements, such as the Geer Road bridge seismic retrofit and Crows Landing Road bridge replacement, traffic signal installations, road maintenance and Parklawn neighborhood sewer lines.

• Paying $288,100 for Megabyte Systems Inc. for automated property tax system maintenance next year, a 1.5 percent increase over this year’s cost.
