In recent days, the Northern San Joaquin Valley weather has ranged from shorts and flip-flops to sweaters and umbrellas and, currently, just about perfect conditions. Get those shorts and flip-flops ready again.
After several days of mild temperatures with a chance of rain here and there, the thermometer is headed back up next week. The National Weather Service is predicting a return to the 90s around Monday, with highs closing in on the century mark by Wednesday. Lows will rise, too, dropping only into the 60s at night by the middle of next week.
First, though, a beautiful weekend looms. Saturday and Sunday look warm but not hot, though there is a chance for some pretty windy conditions Saturday. Forecasters call for a high of 74 degrees today, followed by a slight rise Saturday and a high of 83 Sunday. Wind gusts of 28 mph are possible, but other than that it should be a lovely weekend to enjoy the outdoors.
Or, perhaps, to get the air conditioning unit serviced in preparation for next week.
