What: DENIM & DAZZLE EVENT

Info: The American Cancer Society Discovery Shop is having a Denim & Dazzle Event, featuring a large collection of brand-name jeans and glitzy clothing, shoes, accessories, purses and bling. What: CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

YESTERYEARS

50 YEARS AGO: Five judges were chosen for the Miss Modesto Pageant, held at Modesto Junior College. The judges included: Bette Stanley, Dorce Steinmann and Bob Douglas, from Sacramento television stations; Dr. Joseph E. Bruggman, dean of student affairs at Stanislaus State; and Patrick Spooner from the Miss California Pageant.
