Info: The third annual Ride for Mom family and charity cycling event promotes healthy lifestyles. The theme is “Be Active, Eat Healthy, Live Better.” Ride for Mom includes 10-, 30-, 72- and 100-mile bicycle routes, rest stops, support, a healthy lunch and a lifestyle fair with health- and bicycle-orientated exhibitors. What: MOTORCYCLE RIDE

Where: Mitchell’s Harley-Davidson, 500 N. Carpenter Road

Info: The 10th annual Cpl. Michael D. Anderson Jr./All Veterans Tribute Ride is open to all makes and models and is a “Ride Free/No Fee” event. Cars also are welcome. The Mobile Vet Center will be available to help with veterans’ needs. The ride will end at Jamestown Harley-Davidson for celebratory beverages, a DJ and barbecue. YESTERYEARS

40 YEARS AGO: The Modesto City Council approved an added provision to senior citizen golfer benefits. The council agreed to allow Modesto residents age 70 or older to play golf free of charge on the nine-hole municipal links Monday through Friday before 2 p.m., holidays excluded.
