Stanislaus baseball ends season with loss, batting champ (5-4-14)

On a day when Cal State Stanislaus first baseman Marcus Mastrobuoni secured the conference batting title, the Warriors closed their season with a 9-3 home loss to Cal State Monterey Bay in 11 innings.

The Otters had 11 hits after the seventh inning and scored all eight runs against the Warriors’ bullpen. Stanislaus finished the 2014 campaign 13-35 and 7-32 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Mastrobuoni, a junior catcher and first baseman, went 2 for 6 with a double to end the year with at .373, beating teammate Skippy Ferreria for the California Collegiate Athletic Association batting crown. The junior designated hitter finished at .371 for the season.
