Info: The Yosemite Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals invites nonprofit and business professionals to an educational lunch and program featuring Alice L. Ferris and James Anderson, who are partners in GoalBusters. The topic of the program will be “Surfing the Next Wave of Philanthropy (or Boomers, X-34’s Millennials, Oh My!)” Cost is $15 for members, $20 nonmembers; lunch is included in the cost. What: AGE WITH MOVEMENT FOR OLDER AMERICANS

What: VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION MEETING

When: Saturday, 10:30 a.m.

Where: Carnegie Arts Center, 250 N. Broadway

Info: The Carnegie Arts Center will host an informational meeting for people interested in volunteering at the center. Opportunities for volunteers include working in customer service, special events, clerical and exhibitions. Docents are also needed to give tours and lead programs. All volunteers receive training. Volunteers should be at least 15 years of age and willing to commit to at least four hours per month. For more information, call (209) 632-5761.


YESTERYEARS

25 YEARS AGO: Dianne Feinstein, the former mayor of San Francisco, returned to Stanislaus County for her second visit in five weeks. The former mayor first had visited March 23. Feinstein was wooing Central Valley voters in an attempt to establish a solid Northern California base for a shot at the 1990 governor’s race.
