Larry Johnson: Kristin Olsen helped get books for vets

April 24, 2014

Yes, the Korean War is often called “The Forgotten War,” sandwiched between World War II and the Vietnam War. Thankfully, the South Korean people have never forgotten that America, along with other United Nations troops, came to their defense when North Korea and Communist China invaded.

The South Korean government and our Defense Department published a book, “Korea Reborn,” depicting the devastation our military found while there and the remarkable country Korea has become after 60 years.

Some of these books came to Sacramento for distribution and our assemblywoman, Kristin Olsen and her staff, picked them up and brought them to me to make sure they are given to veterans who were actually in that country during the three years of active fighting. Thank you, Kristin Olsen and staff!
