Doug Harms: Don Gaekle best choice for assessor

April 21, 2014

I support Don Gaekle for Stanislaus County assessor because of his experience, knowledge and the skills he developed while working in the Assessor’s Office for 27 years. In order to correctly and efficiently direct the appraisers, auditors and support staff who assess property in the county, it is imperative the assessor understand the details of the appraisal and assessment processes, and the laws that govern those processes.

With an advanced appraisal certificate from the state and his 27 years of experience in the Assessor’s Office, Don is clearly the best choice for this position. Don has supported and protected Proposition 13 for the past 27 years and I know he will continue to protect it in the future.

Having worked with Don for 25 years, I know that he will continue to deliver fair and timely assessments while treating our citizens to the respect and service they deserve. When I vote for assessor, I will vote for the candidate who does not need on-the-job training and that person is Don Gaekle
