Stanislaus County community novel first chapter online

April 15, 2014

The first chapter of Stanislaus County’s community novel, “Ashes in a Teardrop,” was published online Tuesday. Fifteen local authors have collaborated on this project, mapping out the story and contributing a chapter each toward the novel’s plot. The novel begins when a young couple stumble across an abandoned teardrop trailer during a weekend bike ride along the Tuolumne River.

What follows is a suspenseful mystery set against the familiar landscape of Stanislaus County, according to a news release from the library. Chapter 1 was written by Micheal Maxwell of Modesto. A new chapter will be published online every Tuesday at www.stanislauslibrary.org.
