Marilyn Rowland: Movie has anti-scam message

March 19, 2014

“Don’t fall for prize scam” (March 16, Page D6) was a story with important information to share with readers. But an equally good example of the same message is in the recent, well-received movie “Nebraska.”

The plot follows an elderly man who sets out to walk to the office where he believes he will collect prize money. His son eventually joins him, and tries to set him straight. Their journey is one of discovering and accepting each other, which is the real prize in the story. But these scams are out there and people need to get the message. Try the movie presentation of the same message.
