Every year, about 3 million illegal aliens try to enter the U.S. About 1 million are caught near the border. About 500 die of exposure or other causes. Of the 1 million who are caught, about seven are killed each year by the Border Patrol. The Los Angeles Times disclosed details of a report from law enforcement experts that said agents deliberately stepped into the path of vehicles to justify shooting at the driver.
Probably over a 1,000 times a day, police officers in California step in front of vehicles to make them stop. Some are to let children cross the streets, others to slow traffic at accidents, still others at the scene of possible robberies or other crimes. Thats what police do. I doubt the Times report had much evidence to back up those statements.
Most police agencies have shooting policies stating that if an officer steps in front of a vehicle to make it stop, and the driver tries to run over the officer, thats attempted murder of the officer. The officer can shoot at the driver. My view of the killing zone is, you found a problem that does not exist.
