Glenn A. Hibbard: Desalination will solve the problems

March 9, 2014

California is experiencing a drought, according to the leaders of our state, and are asking for federal assistance. The answer has been at our disposal for, well, eons. The Pacific Ocean! In the article “Israeli leader’s visit bolsters ties with state” (March 6, Page A3), about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netauyahu’s recent visit to our state, he stated “California doesn’t need to have a water problem.” Israel, an arid country, “has no water problems” because, among other things, they use “desalination.” Desalination! Imagine that! All the water our cities and fields will ever need is within our technological fingertips. It’s there, we have it. Let’s use it.
