Kansas to play Stanislaus fair

March 4, 2014

Kansas fans, don’t you cry no more. The classic-rock group, which hasn’t played in the region for a while, is coming to the Stanislaus County Fair this summer. The band topped the Billboard charts with hits including “Carry On Wayward Son,” “Dust in the Wind” and “Point of Know Return.” The group will perform July 12 at 8:30 p.m. on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage at the fair. The concert will be held by radio station 104.1 The Hawk and is free with paid fair admission. The group has been in the region at least a couple of times before, but not recently. It played at the Merced County Fair in 2009, and with the group Heart in 2006 at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys. “Kansas has paved the way for many rock groups and artists,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokeswoman for the Stanislaus County Fair. “We are thrilled to have them perform at the Stanislaus County Fair.”
