INDIANAPOLIS — Three of the six members of an Indianapolis family who died from a weekend fire provided organs that will directly benefit as many as 85 people.
Indianapolis Fire Department Capt. Rita Reith said Wednesday that organs from the body of 6-year-old Fuentes Guerra will benefit a 4-year-old Ohio boy, an 8-month-old baby, a 63-year-old-Indiana woman and a 59-year-old person, as well as medical research.
Reith says organs from the body of 14-year-old Miranda Guerre will benefit a 17-year-old Minnesota girl, a 1-year-old Michigan boy, a 61 year-old Ohio woman, two 59-year-old Indiana men, and a 64-year-old Ohio man.
Reith says organs from the body of 33-year-old Brandy Mae Guerra might help as many as 75 people.
Reith provided no other information on the donations or recipients.
