A candlelight vigil will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. for Rick “Ricky” Robert, who was found fatally shot in his Sonora garage this week.
Roberts, 49, was a well-known demolition derby competitor and police volunteer and active in his church, Christian Heights. The garage – where Roberts built demolition derby cars – is at 280 Mono Way.
Police ask those attending the vigil to car pool because parking is limited. They also will escort people who park on the other side of Mono Way to the vigil and are asking motorists to avoid that section of Mono Way from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to limit traffic congestion.
