Denise Cook: City took care of lost purse

February 14, 2014

On Jan. 23, I was leaving town for a two-week trip when my purse fell out of our car without my knowing it. Arriving in Sacramento, I found that my purse was missing and was about to board Amtrak. I was at a loss as what to do. My friend called her neighbor who said she had seen the street sweeper pick up a red purse. We called the city department in charge of street sweeping and spoke to Jack Hunt, who said the sweeper had turned in my purse. Jack did a wonderful job in handling the delivery of my purse to a family member who mailed it to my vacation destination. I want to thank Jack and the street sweeper who returned my purse intact. Yes, Modesto, there are good and honest people in our wonderful city!
