Those looking for something to do with children out of school for the Presidents Day weekend may finally consider an outing to the snow.
A storm is expected to move into the area Saturday, National Weather Service forecasters say, bringing rain to areas of the Northern San Joaquin Valley and snow to the foothills.
First, though, is Friday, and Valentine’s Day is looking more like Memorial Day weatherwise, with a high of 75 degrees. That’s going to change when the weekend arrives, with highs dropping into the 60s.
The weather system that moves in on Saturday evening isn’t expected to bring a lot of rain, though the parched state will take every drop it can get. Forecasters expect about a quarter-inch to fall in the Valley.
Though the system will clear out by late Sunday, another one could move in early next week. The National Weather Service is predicting a chance of rain starting Tuesday and stretching at least into Thursday.
