About 50 dignitaries gathered Wednesday to celebrate the opening of Archway Commons, a 76-unit apartment complex for low-income families on Carver Road in Modesto. The complex was developed by Bay Area-based EAH Housing, which also will serve as the complex’s property manager. The city provided the developer with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funding. The complex, which opened several months ago, is at 100 percent occupancy and has a waiting list of 350 potential renters. EAH Housing plans to build an additional 74 units when financing becomes available.
