Weather Service issues wind advisory

Bee Staff ReportsFebruary 8, 2014

In addition to the rain boots and umbrellas, it might be a good idea to keep a flashlight handy. Heavy gusts are expected to accompany the rain that is headed our way this weekend, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory.

The advisory is in effect through 11 a.m. today. Forecasters predict winds from the south of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts of up to 45 mph.

Potential impacts include tree damage and power interruptions, as well as increased hazards on area roads.

Though the wind advisory expires this morning, rainy conditions are expected to continue through Monday.
