Ryan Schambers: Fix Turlock's road, please!

February 7, 2014

I am a student at CSU Stanislaus and use the roads in Turlock frequently. I have noticed that Turlock’s roads, especially Monte Vista Avenue, are in need of major repair. Monte Vista is one of the most used and important roads in Turlock. If tourists see that the roads are terrible, even the ones right next to CSUS, they likely will not want to come back. This means less revenue for Turlock businesses. It also means there will be less comfortable driving and lots of wear and tear on everyone’s vehicles. It would save taxpayers money to repair some of the most important roads. I’d gladly be willing to pay additional taxes, as long as it is specifically used for roads.
