Stanislaus County car theft suspects (02/08/2014)

Six people were arrested on suspicion of auto theft in Stanislaus County from Jan. 31 through Wednesday


Suspect: Elizabeth Vieira, 28, Hilmar

Date arrested: Jan. 31

Arresting Agency: Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force

Charges: Auto theft, possession of stolen property by swap vendor, possession of unlawful paraphernalia.


Suspect: Scott Johnson, 34, Turlock

Date arrested: Jan. 31

Arresting Agency: STANCATT

Charges: Auto theft, theft or extortion involving motor vehicle, driving with suspended or revoked license, possession of burglary tools.


Suspect: Kristin Mathis, 18, Turlock

Date arrested: Sunday

Arresting Agency: Turlock Police Department

Charges: Auto theft.


Suspect: Colin Craig, 30, Modesto

Date arrested: Monday

Arresting Agency: TPD

Charges: Auto theft, evading police officer, disregard for safety, attempting to receive stolen property, receiving stolen property, enhancement for crime committed while on bail, rearrest.


Suspect: Jeffery Baxter, 29, Oakdale

Date arrested: Tuesday

Arresting Agency: STANCATT

Charges: Auto theft, receiving known stolen motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools.


Suspect: Ivan Vegas, 34, Ceres

Date arrested: Wednesday

Arresting Agency: STANCATT

Charges: Auto theft, theft or extortion involving motor vehicle.
