The Tuolumne County Board of Education will meet at 4 p.m. Monday in Room 217 of the county office, 175 S. Fairview Lane, Sonora. The board will vote on a timeline on Forest Reserve Funds. See the agenda at


The Patterson Joint Unified School District board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the district office, 510 Keystone Blvd., Patterson. Trustees will discuss the timeline and process to get public input in budgeting. The board will receive the 2012-13 annual financial report, which in its findings noted mistakes in enrollment totals as well as corrective action planned. See the full agenda at


The Riverbank Unified School District board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the district boardroom, 6715 Seventh St., Riverbank. Future City competitors will show their model and Cardozo Middle School students will speak on service learning projects they did to earn money for Foothill Horizons science camp. Trustees will interview candidates to complete the term of Steve Walker, who resigned effective Dec. 31. The board will also vote on an extension of Superintendent Darryl Camp’s contract to June 30, 2017, with a salary of $142,548 a year plus $9,000 a year for community involvement expenses. The Newman-Crows Landing Unified School District board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the McConnell Adult Education Center, 1348 Patchett Drive, Newman. Trustees will have a first reading of discipline policies. The board will be asked to vote on support staff layoffs; the number or positions are not noted on the agenda.


The Sylvan Union School District board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the district boardroom, 605 Sylvan Ave., Modesto. Trustees will discuss board policies and intra-district attendance, and get a budget update. See the full agenda at


The Turlock Unified School District board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Professional Development Center, 1100 Cahill Ave., Turlock. Trustees will vote on restoring 3 1/2 hours per day to two partially laid-off staff members and half an hour per day to five more. The board will also vote on an irrigation system for the play field at Cunningham School for an estimated cost of $417,000 and sending Wakefield School sixth-graders to science camp for $20,000. Central Catholic High School will host a blood drive as part of Winter Homecoming. The drive is part of Central Cares Week. The Salida Union School District will hold registration for kindergarten and, for children turning 5 between Sept. 2 and Dec. 2., transitonal kindergarten, 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Dena Boer School multipurpose room, 4801 Gold Valley Road, Salida, and 8 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 12 at Mildred Perkins School, Room K, 3920 Blue Bird Drive, Modesto. Modesto Junior College has added late start and online classes to broaden availability of popular classes, including vocational and general education courses. Online sections have been added in psychology, history, anthropology and administration of justice. Face-to-face openings were added in educational planning, career awareness, automotive, electronics, welding, biology, English, English as a second language, reading, child development, physical education, health, humanities, fire science and geology. The Denair Unified School District board will hold a closed-door meeting to discuss superintendent’s objectives and evaluation and other personnel actions at 6 p.m. Thursday in the district board room, 3460 Lester Road, Denair. The Manteca Unified School District Ag Advisory Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the district office, Room 202, 2271 W. Louise Ave., Manteca. There will be updates from each high school and on student farm projects. A presentation by Ag Boosters, a San Joaquin Fair update and possible elimination of ag incentive grant funding will be discussed.
