MJC baseball opens home schedule

January 30, 2014

The Modesto Junior College baseball team, fresh off its season-opening come-from-behind 7-6 at Mission, makes its home debut today at 2 p.m. against De Anza. The Pirates broke a 6-6 tie in the ninth against Mission when Mike Pereznegron doubled, advanced to third on Kaden Cline's sacrifice and beat the throw to the plate after Patrick Mulry chopped to first. After today's game, De Anza will stay in town for a doubleheader against the Pirates on Saturday at 11 a.m.
