— Joan Jett & the Blackhearts will perform at this year’s Stanislaus County Fair, officials announced Thursday. The band, best known for its hit “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll,” will perform July 19.

Jett and her band last played the fair in 2011, and performed last year at Ironstone Vineyards. Jett has had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You” and “Crimson and Clover.” She released her latest album, “Unvarnished,” in October.

Jett, 55, co-founded the all-girl punk group The Runaways at age 15. She was one of only two women named to Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 100 greatest guitar players of all time.

The fair opens July 11 for a 10-day run. For more information, go to www.stancofair.com.
