A's agree to terms with Moss, three others

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics have agreed to terms with infielders Brandon Moss and Jed Lowrie, outfielder Craig Gentry and pitcher Luke Gregerson on one-year contracts for the 2014 season.

Moss launched a team-high 30 home runs and finished second on the club with 87 runs batted in last season despite making just 115 starts as part of a platoon.

Over two seasons with the A's, the 30-year-old veteran has batted .269 with 51 home runs and 139 RBI in 229 games.

Lowrie posted career-highs in batting average (.290), hits (175), doubles (45), RBI (75), and games played (154) during the 2013 season, his first in Oakland.

A first-round pick (45th overall) of the Red Sox in 2005, Lowrie owns a career .264 average with 50 homers and 234 RBI in 507 games over six seasons with Boston, Houston and Oakland.

Gregerson was acquired from San Diego on Dec. 3 in exchange for Seth Smith after going 6-8 with four saves and a 2.71 ERA in a team-leading 73 games for the Padres last season.

Gentry, acquired from Texas in a four-player trade on Dec. 3, batted .280 with two homers and 22 RBI in 106 games with the Rangers in 2013.
