Sad to see historic buildings fall

Regarding “Demolition of historic theater set to begin” (Online, Jan. 5): It is so sad to see places that have history in a city go. Places that have history hold a special place in people’s hearts and this was one of these places. I’m very glad that a few of the iconic pieces were taken and saved, the mementos will be great pieces to spark fond memories one day. The theater was a landmark of sorts and will be missed once it is demolished (Jan. 14) and a new building is built. And in this age, with so much technology theaters are losing their place with the ability to download movies on laptops, phones and other devices. Despite having been closed since 1977, there are still many who remember it as a place they loved.
