75 YEARS AGO: Increasing demands for socialized medicine were addressed at a San Joaquin County meeting. The California Medical Association’s prepayment medical and hospital plan being created to aid the general public was outlined by Dr. Roblee. The doctor said the call for socialized medicine came from farm bureaus, unions and the general public. However, the plan was not without criticisms, Dr. Alex Anderson of Fresno felt anything other than private practice would be a deterioration of the quality of medical service. –
