Seven people, including three children, escaped major injury when their vehicles collided in downtown Modesto on Tuesday morning.
A minivan carrying two adults collided with a Chevrolet Silverado pickup carrying two women and three children at Sixth and I streets shortly before 11 a.m. The impact pushed the truck onto its side.
The truck’s occupants got out of the vehicle on their own; emergency responders secured the occupants of the minivan to backboards for transportation to a local hospital.
Modesto Regional Fire Battalion Chief Hugo Patino said the injuries all appeared to be minor, but everyone involved went to the hospital as a precautionary measure. I Street eastbound was closed in the area while emergency responders cleared the scene.
