SALIDA LITTLE LEAGUE Registration and tryouts will be held for youth ages 4 to 14 on Jan. 11 and Jan. 18 at Salida Park (corner of Broadway & Magnolia Streets) in downtown Salida. We will also be celebrating our fifth year of Challenger League Baseball for children with special needs ages 4 to 18. Register at the same times. MCHENRY LEAGUE Signups are open for the youth leagues at McHenry Bowl. Openings are available for bumper leagues ages 3-7, youth leagues for ages 8-19. BAD TO THE BONZ Bad to the Bonz Boxing Gym is having tryouts for its winter boxing program as well as providing adult and youth classes. There also are clinics for coaches that will be given by professional coach Tony Avila, former coach of the Modesto PAL boxing club and now owner of Bad to the Bonz Boxing Gym. The winter special for youth is $150 for 2 months. The gym encourages parents to work out for free alongside their children. The gym also offers kickboxing training by coach Gene Fields of Team Voodoo. Free classes on Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon. SNAG GOLF Stands for “Starting New At Golf,” for ages 5 to 15. Saturday dates available with reservations, so call the golf shop to reserve your spot. We schedule SNAG sessions when we have five or more kids participating.
