Info: The Newcomers and Friends Club of Modesto is a social club through which ladies have the opportunity to meet others with similar interests. It is open to anyone, whether you have lived here 10 days or 10 years. There is a monthly no-host luncheon at a local restaurant. Where: Modesto Junior College East Campus, Forum 110, 435 College Ave.

Info: The human services program at Modesto Junior College is sponsoring a spring 2014 orientation. The event will showcase the degrees, certificates of achievement and skills recognition awards available to students in human services, chemical dependency counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation and gerontology.
